Dr. David Cohan, MD, FACS, Vice President, Therapeutic Strategy Leader for Oncology/Hematology at Fortrea Inc. In this strategic leadership role, David will provide medical and scientific guidance across client engagements, supporting the continued growth of our global oncology business. He will also support Fortrea externally at scientific meetings and industry conferences, bringing therapeutic and drug development experience to help shape our commercial and delivery strategies.
Before joining industry, David held a tenure-track faculty role in surgical oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute / SUNY Buffalo, after which he built broad oncology experience across clinical development, medical affairs and business development. His background includes novel therapeutic modalities, including antibody fusion constructs, T-cell engagers, antibody-drug conjugates, oncolytic viruses, cytokine analogs and small molecules. Most recently, Dr. Cohan served as Vice President of Global Oncology Development at Innovent/Fortvita Biologics, where he designed and led global development programs for early-stage oncology assets and provided scientific leadership for oncology-focused business development presentations, negotiations and collaborations.
Board certified in general surgery and fellowship trained in head and neck surgical oncology and plastic and reconstructive surgery, David is a recognized expert in surgical and head and neck oncology, melanoma, wound healing and cancer immunology. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and continues to serve as a peer reviewer for a leading oncology journal. David holds dual BAs from Yale University and earned his MD from Stanford University. He is an elected fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Head and Neck Society.
