"description": "This Fortrea case study explores how a novel recruitment and retention strategy supported the successful execution of a large industry-sponsored Phase III seasonal pediatric vaccine mega-trial designed to prevent hospitalization of infants due to a serious seasonal illness. Recognizing the challenges associated with recruiting and retaining participants within a limited enrollment period, Fortrea implemented a family-focused and site-centric study design that prioritized the needs of parents, caregivers, researchers, healthcare systems, and study sites. The approach combined participant-centered recruitment and retention initiatives with digital health and innovation solutions that reduced parent and site burden, facilitated timely data collection, supported data quality, and helped achieve critical study endpoints. To support rapid startup, intensive recruitment activity, and multiple data cuts, the team also developed a flexible and scalable resourcing model capable of adapting to evolving study demands. Through coordinated planning, operational agility, and a collaborative approach to participant engagement, the study achieved its first participant in milestone nearly eight weeks ahead of the contracted date while successfully supporting enrollment, retention, and study delivery objectives."
